"Jacob found a safe and supportive place at Steel City to nurture his new athletic endeavor. He appreciated the coaches' firm yet encouraging guidance and immediately felt part of the group. He loved that he got to get right on the water and start rowing on day one." - Amy Bair, mother of a Summer 2016 Learn to Row Camper
Camp Registration closes two weeks prior to the start date.
Steel City’s Learn to Row Camps have up to 15 on-the-water practices each week which allows campers to acquire skills quickly. Even with all the rowing, campers will have plenty of time to enjoy the river with their new friends.
The Camps will introduce campers to the basics of rowing and water safety by one of our USRowing certified coaches. Campers will progress from sweep rowing, (one oar per person in 8 or 4 person boats) to sculling, (2 oars per person, in 4, 2 and 1 person boats).
The goal is to have campers rowing with confidence, working effectively in a team environment, and ready to progress onto the next stage of rowing.
