Our Dam to Dam Challenge event is fun for any rower and offers an opportunity to explore the twelve mile stretch of the Allegheny River from the lock  at Highland Park to the dam at Cheswick.  The row begins at our docks in Verona and we row downriver to the Highland Park Lock. We will then head back upstream all the way to the Cheswick Lock. (under I-76).  We will cross over and head downstream to the Steel City boathouse.
For those who feel the 24K is to much of a challenge there is the Dam to Doughnuts. Dam Donuts is at the 6k that allows rowers at the halfway mark(our docks ) to join the Challenge as they head upstream to complete their 12K.
The row takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete. Because our docks are conveniently located an equal distance from the two locks, we are able to accommodate those who want to do half the distance. The entire row is approximately 24,000 meters, the half or Dam to Donuts is approximately 12,000 meters.
The start time is 7:00am Sunday morning.  You will be sent a link to check boat assignments which will be available Saturday evening. Please arrive about 30 minutes before launch time. Launch time and boat assignments depend on the rowers and preferences. Depending on the number of Dam to Donut rowers, we may "hot seat" and have some row the first half and others row the second half.

Maximum number of entries is 50. Registered rowers have the option to use their own boats, however, the fee is still $30. Requests for boats is on a first come, first served bases from online registrations. Registered rowers need to prioritize their top two choices of boat seats. Registered rowers may request a rower in same boat. Registered rowers need to designate: DAM to DAM (24k), DAM-TO-DONUTS (12k)

Registered rowers need to understand that there is no guarantee of seats.

Master's Sculling Camp - 2017- The Master's Sculling camp was held June 9 & 10 and a second camp on June 11 & 12. We welcomed rowers from the Pittsburgh area to participate and we were fortunate enough to have great weather and plenty of time on the water to practice our skills. Many thanks to our guest coaches: Charlotte Hollings and John Dunn of Calm Waters Rowing for sharing their love of rowing with the rowers of Pittsburgh. Check out some video HERE.
