PRIVATE EVENTS

Let the river be a backdrop for your celebration!

Located in Verona, PA, Steel City Rowing Club offers a truly unique setting for any special event.

With two floors for gathering, two balconies overlooking the river, a fully functional kitchen, and plenty of lush green space, The Boathouse offers a beautiful atmosphere for parties, weddings, meetings, retreats, and more.

OUR “POOL”

SCRC is conveniently located at the halfway point of Pittsburgh’s “Upper Pool” of the Allegheny River. Our waterway runs from the Highland Park Bridge to the PA Turnpike, offering nearly 8 miles of serene water, several islands (including a State Park), and beautiful tree-lined shores.

Broad sweeping meanders and steep river valley topography provide forgiving water conditions, even in the presence of wind and less-than ideal weather. Come see why so many believe this is the most pleasant place to row in PGH!

OUR COMMUNITY

Rowing is more than a sport; it's a lifelong community. At SCRC,  we welcome people of all backgrounds to grow with us as individuals, athletes, leaders, and stewards of our region's beautiful rivers. Steel City prizes the one-on-one relationships we build with and among individuals, as well as the bonds we build with local, regional, and national partners.

Together, we are Strong as Steel!

“You don’t just like rowing. You love it. You live it. It becomes part of your life.
And the members at SCRC aren’t just fellow athletes…

…they’re my rowing family.”

GET
INVOLVED

Steel City Rowing Club is dedicated to developing the strength and character of all backgrounds through the discipline and teamwork of rowing, and through opportunities to serve others. Although memberships and program fees generate a portion of our revenue, we rely on an active base of members, volunteers, and donors to support our community programs and resources. Your involvement enables us to continue to provide affordable programming to a broad community. Your contribution matters!
